I'll fix my Brand later…
I bet you've said that. Out loud. Every time you open Canva to "just create a quick post."
And ok, you can fix it later. But you've been saying that for a while, and later keeps getting pushed further down the list because it feels like one of those things that isn't that important.
Erm, I hate to break it to you but it really is important.
Your brand is the visual representation of you. The you who is a total badass expert in what you do. The fun, different, extraordinary person that shows up at event and coffee chats, who people love talking too.
But your brand looks like corporate Caroline meets DIY Denise (neither corporate Caroline nor DIY Denise are real people. Honest! lol!). So the person people love when they meet you - they don’t get when they look you up afterwards and they think “hmm, that’s weird”
And people will notice that disconnect, even if they can't name it.
Right now, a misaligned brand is doing one of two things - sometimes both at once:
Attracting the wrong people. The ones you smile at politely while quietly hoping they don't book.
Or quietly putting off the right people, because they can't see you in it - and so they move on.
You might have already spent time trying to fix it yourself. Tweaking colours, testing fonts, starting over in Canva for the fourteenth time. And there's nothing wrong with that - it's how most people start. But at some point you realise that getting it right isn't just about taste, it's a skill. And recognising what you need help with is one of the more grown-up things about running a business. (I know being a grown up sucks - but we all have to do it!)
When your brand finally fits, people say "I knew it was you straight away." That's the feeling. That's when your brand is doing its job.
If you're at the point where you know something's off but you're not sure where to start, I'd love to help you figure it out. You can find out more about working with me here.
